A New Procedure Is Now Used On Certain C9 Engines When Torquing The Alternator Bracket {1405}

C9 (S/N: C9Y1-UP)
Generator Set:
C9 MARINE GEN (S/N: SJB1-UP)
C9 MARINE GS (S/N: C9A1-UP)
Marine Engine:
C9 MARINE (S/N: C9B1-UP; CSN1-UP; X9X1-UP; Z9X1-UP)

Description of Change: The new torque procedure is now used in order to minimize assembly stress in the 206-9790 Bracket and the 194-4827 Alternator Bracket As.

Adaptable To: The improved procedure is as follows:

(1) 206-9790 Bracket

(2) 6V-4248 Bolt

(3) 194-4827 Alternator Bracket As

(4) 6V-1820 Bolt

  1. Hand tighten the bolt (2) through the bracket (1) and into the exhaust manifold.

  1. Torque the bolt (4) through the bracket (3) and the bracket (1) .

  1. Torque bolt (2) to the exhaust manifold.
