Engine Oil Screen - Remove and Install

Usage:

C175-16 WYC

Removal Procedure


    NOTICE

    Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

    Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.

    Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. Drain the engine oil into a suitable container for storage or for disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change".

  2. Remove bolts (1). Remove cover (2).

  3. Remove O-ring seal (3) from cover (2).

  4. Remove oil screen (4).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install oil screen (4) in the reverse order of removal.

    Note: Check the O-ring seal for wear or for damage. If necessary, replace the O-ring seal.

  2. Fill the engine with oil.
