3208 Truck Engines
Description of Change: New suction bell assemblies, bolts, and washers are used in the sump oil lines groups in 3208 Truck Engines. The new suction bell assemblies incorporate an oil bypass tube. The tube directs the bypass oil below the oil level in the oil pan. This keeps excess oil away from the cylinder walls. The new suction bell assemblies are stronger because the bypass tube is brazed to the suction bell.
Adaptable As: The new suction bell assemblies with the oil bypass tube are direct replacements for the former suction bell assemblies as shown in Chart A. The new suction bell assemblies are fastened to the oil pump with four 1T416 Bolts and four 9M1974 Washers instead of the former four S1617 Bolts and 2A5328 Locks. The new sump oil lines components are in effect with 3208 Truck Engines 51Z68765 and 2Z40705 and Remanufactured 3208 Truck Engine 62W40701.
