New Components and Inspection Criteria for the Oil Drain Tube Are Used for Certain 3126 and C7 Marine Engines {1052, 1307}

Marine Engine: 3126B MARINE (S/N: 9ZF1-UP; 3GS1-UP) C7 MARINE (S/N: M7A1-UP; C7B1-UP; C7D1-UP; M7G1-UP; C7X1-UP; C7Z1-UP)

Description of Change: New O-ring seals and new bolts for the oil drain tube are used on certain 3126 and C7 marine engines. The new o-ring seal is used on the turbo flange. The new seal helps to eliminate oil leakage at the bolted joint. The new bolts are also used on the turbo flange. These bolts incorporate an internal hex head which increases the clearance between the tool and the oil drain tube. This helps to ensure that no damage will occur to the turbo oil drain tube during removal and installation.

Adaptable To: The new 105-3484 Bolt replaces the current 6V-4248 Bolt. Also, the new 6V-6228 O-Ring Seal replaces the current 5P-8118 O-Ring Seal. Both of these components are within the 178-8050 Turbocharger Oil Lines Gp .

Note: New tubes come with an updated bend data table to allow for installation of the tube without bending the tube in order to allow the tube to fit.The o-ring and bolts are adaptable back to the first production of the engine. The change is effective at the factory with the following serial number prefixes that are listed in Table

Inspection Criteria

During inspection of the oil drain tube, no dents in the corrugated section of the tube are permissible. Small dents that have no creases or punctures, and do not restrict oil flow are permissible on non-corrugated sections of the drain tube. Also, the tube must not be in contact with any other parts of the engine except the turbo flange. Refer to following Illustrations for views of non-acceptable damage.
