Engine Oil Pan - Remove and Install

- Drain the engine oil into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change".

- Use Tooling (A) to support engine oil pan (2). The weight of engine oil pan (2) is approximately
25 kg (55 lb) . - Remove bolts (1).
- Lower engine oil pan (2) and the gasket.
- If necessary, remove adapter assembly (3) and drain plugs (4).

Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |

- Install engine oil pan (2) in the reverse order of removal.
- Apply Tooling (B) on the four socket joints of the gasket prior to installation.
- If necessary, tighten drain plugs (4) to a torque of
80 ± 10 N·m (60 ± 7 lb ft) . - If necessary, tighten the drain plug on adapter assembly (3) to a torque of
70 ± 15 N·m (50 ± 11 lb ft) .
