Engine Oil Filter Base - Remove and Install

  1. Use Tooling (A) to remove engine oil filters (4).

  2. Remove bracket (3)

  3. Remove bolts (1) and remove the engine oil filter base (2).

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.

    Spring force will be released when covers are removed.

    Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.


  4. Remove cover (5), gasket (6), springs (7) and plungers (8) from oil filter base (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the engine oil filter base (2) in the reverse order.

    1. Apply clean engine oil to the oil filter seals prior to installation. Install the engine oil filters until the oil filter seal contacts the base, then turn the engine oil filters one full turn.
