Combined Function - Electric Control: Parameter Setting

Usage:

352F-VG A9J
These procedures cover specific work tool parameter settings that are commonly used in detail.

Reference: Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Work Tool Parameter - Program" for additional programming instructions and parameter descriptions.

Supply Pump for the Work Tool

Pump Flow Control Mode (Parameter #6)

Set the pump to supply oil flow to the work tool using the following parameter settings for the work tool.

Pump #1 - Drive Pump

Pump #2 - Idler Pump

Combined Flow - Both Pumps

  1. Select Pump #1 or Pump #2.

    1. "ATT Valve #1" (Parameter #27 through #36) are now available for setting.

    2. "ATT Valve #2" (Parameter #37 through #45) are set by parameters used for "ATT Valve #1" for one pump setting.

      • Pump #1 is recommended when multiple operation of work tool along with swing or stick function are frequently used.

      • Pump #2 is recommended when multiple operation of work tool along with bucket or boom function are frequently used.

  2. Select Combined Flow.

    1. (Parameter #27 through #45) are now available for setting.

Pump Flow to the Work Tool (Single Operation)

One Pump Flow using Drive or Idler Pump

  1. Set the appropriate flow for the work tool to be installed by using the following parameter settings.

  2. Work tool open and close speed can be decreased by lowering the following parameter value.

    1. Spool shift pressure adjustment to extend the attachment control valve.

      "Atch #X Max Ext Press" (Parameter #30 and #40) - XXXX [kPa]

    2. Spool shift pressure adjustment to retract the attachment control valve for two-way flow only.

      "Atch #X Max Ret Press" (Parameter #31 and #41) - XXXX [kPa]

      Note: For reference, this parameter is set within the range of 800 kPa to 2000 kPa.

Two Pump Flow

  1. Set the appropriate flow for the work tool to be installed by using the following parameter settings.

    2. Spool shift pressure adjustment to retract the attachment control valves for two-way flow only.

      "Atch #2 Max Ret Press" (Parameter #41) - XXXX [kPa]

      Note: For reference, this parameter is set within the range of 800 kPa to 2000 kPa. A parameter setting for spool shift pressure of 0 kPa is not made for flow from two pumps.

Pump Flow to the Work Tool (Multiple Operation)

One Pump Flow

  1. Set the additional flow to the work tool when multiple operations are to take place by using the following parameter settings.

    "Atch #1 Mult-Ope Add Flow Setting" (Parameter # 28) - XXX [L/min]

    Note: Pump flow to the work tool may exceed the upper limit flow set (Parameter #27) when setting additional flow for multiple operation.

  2. Setting the following parameters will enhance the work tool operation along with other implement movement.

    1. Spool shift pressure adjustment to extend the attachment control valve.

      "Atch #1 M-Ope Max Ext Press" (Parameter #32) - XXXX [kPa]

    2. Spool shift pressure adjustment to retract the attachment control valve for two-way flow only.

      "Atch #1 M-Ope Max Ret Press" (Parameter #33) - XXXX [kPa]

Note: For reference, this parameter is set within the range of 800 kPa to 2000 kPa.

Two Pump Flow

  1. Set the additional flow to the work tool when multiple operations are to take place by using the following parameter settings.

    "Atch #1 Mult-Ope Add Flow Setting" (Parameter # 28) - XXX [L/min]

    Note: Pump flow to the work tool may exceed the upper limit flow set (Parameter #27) when setting additional flow for multiple operation.

  2. Setting the following parameters will enhance the work tool operation along with other implement movement.

    1. Spool shift pressure adjustment to extend the attachment control valve.

      "Atch #1 M-Ope Max Ext Press" (Parameter #32) - XXXX [kPa]

      "Atch #2 M-Ope Max Ext Press" (Parameter #42) - XXXX [kPa]

    2. Spool shift pressure adjustment to retract the attachment control valve for two-way flow only.

      "Atch #1 M-Ope Max Ret Press" (Parameter #33) - XXXX [kPa]

      "Atch #2 M-Ope Max Ret Press" (Parameter #43) - XXXX [kPa]

      Note: For reference, this parameter is set within the range of 800 kPa to 2000 kPa. A parameter setting for spool shift pressure of 0 kPa is not made for flow from two pumps.

Enhanced Multiple Operation for Two Pump Flow

When operating the work tool with combined pump flow along with other functions (boom, stick, and swing), the control of the work tool can be improved using the following.

Note: This parameter setting is only available when "Multi Ope Atch Valve Limit" (Parameter # 14) is Enabled.

  1. The speed of the work tool when operating multiple functions at the same time can be increased or decreased. Increase the value of parameter to increase the speed. Decrease the value of the parameter to decrease the speed.

    1. Spool shift pressure adjustment to extend the attachment control valve when operating the work tool with Boom UP, Stick IN, and Swing.

      "Single Mode Max Ext Press" (Parameter #15) - XXXX [kPa]

      Set this parameter within the following range.

      • "Single Mode Max Ext Press" (Parameter #15) greater than or equal to "Atch #1/#2 Max Ext Press" (Parameter #30 and #40)

      • "Single Mode Max Ext Press" (Parameter #15) less than or equal to "Atch #1/#2 M-Ope Max Ext" (Parameter #32 and #42)

    2. Spool shift pressure adjustment to retract the attachment control valve when operating the work tool with Boom UP, Stick IN, and Swing for two-way flow of oil to the work tool only.

      "Single Mode Max Ret Press" (Parameter #16) - XXXX [kPa]

      Set this parameter within the following range.

      • "Single Mode Max Ret Press" (Parameter #16) greater than or equal to "Atch #1/#2 Max Ret Press" (Parameter #31 and #41)

      • "Single Mode Max Ret Press" (Parameter #16) less than or equal to "Atch #1/#2 M-Ope Max Ext" (Parameter #33 and #43)

Squeeze Function

The squeeze function is used to enhance the operation ability of the work tool such as a grapple. This function is activated by setting the following parameters.

Note: 349 through 320 size machines only.

  1. The attachment control valve spool shift pressure is decreased by decreasing the value of this parameter. This parameter will allow for better control of the work tool when the pressure to the work tool is high.

    "F2-V Max Flow Derate" (Parameter # 11) - XXXX [kPa]

  2. The value of this parameter determines the starting pressure for limiting the amount the spool will shift for the attachment control valve. If a low value is set, the determined limit for the spool shift will start from the low pressure. If a high value is set, the limit of the spool shift is delayed.

    "F2-V Flow Derate Start" (Parameter # 12) - XXXX [kPa]

  3. The value of this parameter determines the maximum pressure for limiting the amount the spool will shift for the attachment control valve.

    "F2-V Flow Derate End" (Parameter # 13) - XXXX [kPa]

Cylinder Speed Limit

Boom DOWN speed limit

Note: 349 through 320 size machines only.

  1. The speed of Boom DOWN can be decreased by decreasing the value of the following parameter.

    1. This parameter adjusts the maximum speed of Boom DOWN. Decreasing this value will lower the maximum speed of Boom DOWN.

      "BM Cyl Ret Spd Limit Max" (Parameter # 22) - XXXX [kPa]

    2. The value of this parameter determines the starting pressure for limiting the amount the spool will shift for the boom control valve.

      "BM Cyl Ret Spd Limit Start" (Parameter # 21) - XXXX [kPa]

      Note: To slow the Boom DOWN operation to allow for a fine movement, adjust the value to the range of 500 kPa to 800 kPa.

Stick IN speed limit

Note: 349 through 320 size machines only.

  1. The speed of Stick IN can be decreased by decreasing the value of the following parameter.

    1. This parameter adjusts the maximum speed of Stick IN. Decreasing this value will lower the maximum speed of Stick IN.

      "ST Cyl Ext Spd Limit Max" (Parameter # 24) - XXXX [kPa]

    2. The value of this parameter determines the starting pressure for limiting the amount the spool will shift for the stick control valve.

      "ST Cyl Ext Spd Limit Start" (Parameter # 23) - XXXX [kPa]

      Note: To slow the Stick IN operation to allow for a fine movement, adjust the value to the range of 500 kPa to 800 kPa.

Boom DOWN speed limit by regeneration

  1. The speed of Boom DOWN by using regeneration can be decreased by decreasing the value of the following parameter.

    1. This parameter adjusts the maximum speed of Boom DOWN by using regeneration. Decreasing this value will lower the maximum speed of Boom DOWN.

      "BM Down Regen Max Press" (Parameter # 25) - XXXX [kPa]

Variable Relief Pressure

The relief pressure for the work tool can be set using the following parameters.

"Variable Rel Valve #1 Press" (Parameter #9) - XXXX [kPa]

"Variable Rel Valve #2 Press" (Parameter #10) - XXXX [kPa]
