Alternator - Remove and Install

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool. |
- If equipped with a 437-0125 (24 Volt) alternator, refer to Special Instruction, "Procedure to Install the 437-0125 Charging Alternator Gp On Certain Off-Highway Truck Engines" for additional instruction.
- Turn the power disconnect switch to the OFF position.

- If equipped with a 24 Volt alternator, us the following steps.
- Turn the power disconnect switch to the OFF position.

21 kg (47 lb) .
- Install alternator (9) or alternator (8) in the reverse order of removal.
- If installing the 24 Volt alternator (8), the belt pulley must be aligned. Refer to Special Instruction , REHS9242 , "Installing a New Alternator Group on Certain Low Altitude 793D Off-Highway Truck Engines" for instruction to align the belt pulley using a Dayco Belt Diagnostic Kit 93874.
