Note: Excessive loosening of the clamp assemblies will damage the turbocharger wheel.

    1. In order to rotate either of the turbocharger compressor housings, loosen clamp assemblies (7) . Loosen the clamp assemblies enough to rotate the housings. Position the center bearing housing with the oil supply and the drain in the vertical position. Tighten clamp assemblies (7) to a torque of 13.6 ± 1.2 N·m (120 ± 11 lb in). Tap the clamp assemblies lightly in four places around each clamp assembly. Tighten the clamp assemblies again to a torque of 13.6 ± 1.2 N·m (120 ± 11 lb in).

Note: Discard the nuts after use. Use new nuts for installation.

    1. Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of nuts (5) prior to installation.

    1. Tighten nuts (5) to a torque of 54 ± 5 N·m (40 ± 4 lb ft).

    1. Apply clean engine oil in the oil inlet of the turbocharger after assembly or before installation.
