Truck Engine News SEBD6830, November 2009, "An Update to the Wiring Harness of the Engine Brake on Some C15 Truck Engines Is Now Used". Disregard this article. Please see the article that follows.

Description of Change: The update to the wiring harness is designed for extended service life.

Procedure to Update the Wiring Harness

If the codes from Table 1 are displayed, then inspect the harness and follow the procedure below.

Refer to Illustration 1 through Illustration 4 for examples for the type of damages that may occur. If damage has occurred, then replace the harness and follow the procedure that is outlined below.

Follow the procedure below in order to keep the harness from rubbing other engine components.

1. Identify the three studs (1) on IVA 4 and IVA 5 that are needed for this procedure.

2. Place the 4P-7582 Clips on the studs with the angle in the clip pointing downward.

3. Use 3S-2093 Cable Straps (3) to attach the main bundle of the harness (4) to the clips. Place tie straps at the end of the clips that is farthest from the studs.

   Note: Do not tighten the tie straps to the clips at this point.

4. Tighten the 235-1089 Flange Nuts (5) to the studs.

5. Tighten the straps to the clips.
