Start By:

  1. Remove the bottom guards.

------ WARNING! ------

Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact skin.

At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure.

Steam can cause personal injury.

Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the cooling system pressure cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.

Remove the cooling system pressure cap slowly to relieve pressure.

Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.

The space between the body and the frame becomes a zero clearance area when the body is lowered. Failure to install the retaining cable can result in injury or death to personnel working in this area.

  1. Disconnect harness assembly (15) and remove the connecting hardware.

  1. Remove cover (17) and cover (18) .

  1. Position baffles (23) out of the way.

  1. Attach Tooling (A) onto both sides of front module (24) . Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device onto Tooling (A) . The weight of front module (24) is approximately 3084 kg (6800 lb).

  1. Disconnect link assembly (25) and link assembly (26) .

  1. Remove bolts (27) .

  1. Position front module (24) onto Tooling (C) . Use bolts (27) and bolts (28) in order to secure front module (24) onto Tooling (C) .

    Note: To disconnect the load leveler, access the chains from the fan side only using a suitable ladder.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install front module (24) in the reverse order of removal.
