Note: Before assembly, lubricate the bearing surfaces and the threads of the bolts, threads of the locknuts and the threads of the plugs with 4C-5599 Anti-Seize Compound.

(1) Before assembly, lubricate the threads of the pipe plugs with 4C-5599 Anti-Seize Compound.

(2) Tighten diagonally opposite bolts simultaneously to 55 ± 5 N·m (41 ± 4 lb ft).

(3) Torque for the taperlock studs ... 35 ± 5 N·m (26 ± 4 lb ft)

(4) Torque for the bolts ... 55 ± 5 N·m (41 ± 4 lb ft)

Use the following procedure to tighten the nuts for the V-band clamps (5):

  1. Tighten the nuts to 6.5 ± 2.0 N·m (57.5 ± 17.7 lb in).

  2. After the engine has been tested, again tighten the nuts to 6.5 ± 2.0 N·m (57.5 ± 17.7 lb in).
