Description of Change: The new seal relieves pressure from the well below the ignition transformers. This improvement will help to prevent damage to the transformer due to excessive pressure.

The pressure is due to combustion gas leakage. The leakage can be caused by several conditions:

• Improper maintenance of the spark plug gasket

• Dirty sealing surfaces

• Leaking spark plugs

Indications of leakage are deformation of the transformer's case, cracks, and separations on either side of the transformer's flange. Also, moisture in the well under the transformer is a indication of leakage.

The new 324-8782 Seal relieves pressure that builds up. The seal helps prevent damage to the coil.

The new seal fits into the upper seal groove on the tube for the spark plug. Make sure that the seal is fully seated into the groove.

Serial number effectivity is listed in Table 1.
