Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
If a new Control Station Processor (CSP) has been installed and there is no starboard throttle signal, perform the calibration procedure in order to set the minimum and the maximum position of the throttle. Use the procedure that is illustrated in the Multiple Station Control System (MSCS) Operator's Guide, LEBM2714-02 in order to resolve the problem.
Solution
Calibration procedure for setting the minimum and maximum throttle position
- The control station must not be active.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Press the Slow Vessel Mode (SVM) button and hold the "SVM" button for two seconds. The lamp begins to flash at a rate of 1 HZ.
- Move the throttle levers to the desired minimum forward throttle position and press the "SVM" button. The "SVM" lamp will stop flashing. The "SVM" lamp will remain on. This will indicate that the minimum forward throttle position has been set.
- Press the "SVM" button and hold the "SVM" button for two seconds. The "SVM" lamp begins to flash at a rate of 1 HZ.
- Move the throttle lever to the desired maximum forward throttle position and press the "SVM" button. The "SVM" lamp will stop flashing. The "SVM" lamp will remain on. This will indicate that the maximum forward throttle position has been set.
- If a separate throttle configuration is used, proceed to Step12.
- Press the "SVM" button and hold the "SVM" button for two seconds. The "SVM" lamp begins to flash at a rate of 1 HZ.
- Move the throttle levers to the desired minimum reverse throttle position and press the "SVM" button. The "SVM" lamp will stop flashing. The "SVM" lamp will remain on. This will indicate that the minimum reverse throttle position has been set.
- Press the "SVM" button and hold the "SVM" button for two seconds. The "SVM" lamp begins to flash at a rate of 1 HZ.
- Move the throttle lever to the desired maximum reverse throttle position and press the "SVM" button. The "SVM" lamp will stop flashing. The "SVM" lamp will remain on. This will indicate that the maximum reverse throttle position has been set.
- Press the "SVM" button. The "SVM" lamp will then turn off.
Note: If the "STATION ACTIVE" button is pressed at any time during this procedure the (MSCS) will abort and no changes will be made to the minimum and maximum settings of the throttle position.
