Electronic Control Module (Engine) - Remove and Install - Secondary

Note: If the electronic control module (ECM) is being replaced, download the personality module before you remove the ECM. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Replacing the ECM".
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal at the battery.

Illustration 1 g01602153 - Disconnect harness assemblies (2) from primary electronic control module (1). Move harness assemblies (2) out of the way.
- Disconnect harness assemblies (4) from secondary electronic control module (3). Move harness assemblies (4) out of the way.

Illustration 2 g01609012 - Disconnect ground strap (5) from secondary electronic control module (3).
- Remove bolts (6) and secondary electronic control module (3).
- Install secondary electronic control module (3) and bolts (6). Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of
2.50 ± 0.25 N·m (22 ± 2 lb in) . - Connect ground strap (5) to secondary electronic control module (3).

- Reposition harness assemblies (2). Connect harness assemblies (2) to primary electronic control module (1).
- Connect the negative battery terminal at the battery.
