Installation Procedure

1. Install the O-ring seal and install the support, if necessary.

2. Install Tooling (B) in the cylinder head.

3. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to aftercooler (12). The weight of aftercooler (12) is approximately 70 kg (155 lb).

4. Install the O-ring seal and aftercooler (12).

5. Install bolts (9). Remove Tooling (B) and install remaining bolts (9).

6. Connect hose (10) to aftercooler (12). Tighten hose clamps (11).

7. Connect hose (7) to aftercooler (12). Tighten hose clamps (8).

8. Connect all harness assemblies to aftercooler (12).

9. Install seal (1) on inlet adapter (3).

10. Install the O-ring seals on air pipe (6), if necessary. Apply Tooling (C) to the O-ring seals. Install inlet adapter (3) on air pipe (6) and the aftercooler. Install bolts (2).

11. Install bolts (4) in plate (5) and inlet adapter (3).

12. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".

    Note: It is not necessary to fill the cooling system on sea water aftercooled applications.
