Correct Installation Of Lip-Type Seals In Hydraulic Oil Pumps{5055,5073}

Usage:

When two lip-type seals are installed on the drive shaft of a hydraulic oil pump, install the seals with the lips toward the inside of the pump as shown in the illustration. This will keep hydraulic oil out of the drive compartment if there is a failure of the inside seal.

Be careful during installation of the lip-type seals. Follow these recommendations:

... Use the correct tool during installation to prevent damage to the seal case and/or lip.

Correct installation of seals.

... Install the seals with the lips toward the inside of the pump.

... To prevent leaks, both seals must be installed so their cases are in parallel alignment with the bores.
