TOOL ANNOUNCEMENT, "New 5P8719 Hydraulic Pump (Hand Operated, Two Speed)", Form SENS6229. SERVICE MAGAZINE, May 1, 1978, Page 1, Article "5P8719 Hydraulic Hand Pump Decreases The Time Needed To Move Ram Pistons Under No Load". The above Tool Announcement and Service Magazine article give information about the new 5P8719 Hand Pump Group which is available for use with hydraulically operated service tools. According to the information given, the new pump can be used with all hydraulic pullers and cylinders which are available through the Parts Department. This information is not correct. The 5P8719 Hand Pump Group is for use only with single-action hydraulic rams or cylinders similar to, and including the 1P820 Hydraulic Puller Group, 5P156 Cylinder Group, 5P4166 Ram Group, 5P5247 Hydraulic Puller Assembly, and 8S7650 Cylinder Assembly. A typical application is use of the new pump with the 6V100 Tool Arrangement--Connecting Rod Bushing.

--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------

The 5P8719 Hydraulic Hand Pump is a two-speed hand pump which can be used with all hydraulic pullers and cylinders available through the Parts Department. With two speeds, less time is needed to move ram pistons under no load. In its low pressure range, the 5P8719 Hydraulic Hand Pump sends a larger amount of oil toward the ram piston for more rapid travel (movement). When the pump is used in applications where more force is needed, it automatically changes to the high pressure range. In this range, a lower volume of oil is sent to the ram pistons for more power.

To make repairs to the 5P8719 Hydraulic Hand Pump, a 5P8720 Repair Kit is available.
