Note: The outside diameter of the collar is a slip fit in the pin bore.

  2. Apply Tooling (A) to the collar bores in the bucket. Install collar (19) in the right side of the bucket pin bore. Do not install a collar assembly in the left side of the bucket at this time.

Note: To prevent damage to the tilt cylinder, make sure that the tilt cylinder is fully retracted before the boom is raised.

  3. Fasten a hoist and a suitable lifting sling to the bucket. The weight of the bucket is approximately 10350 kg (22818 lb). Position the bucket to the machine. Raise the boom off the ground by approximately 457 mm (18 inch). Place a stand or blocking under the boom to keep the boom raised. Make sure that the bores on the boom are aligned with the bores on the bucket.

Note: Make sure that the bucket remains suspended until the pin is installed.

Note: Rotate the boom to align the holes of pins (17) prior to assembly.

  4. Lubricate pin (18) with Tooling (F). Use a suitable lifting device to install pin (18). The weight of pin (18) is approximately 300 kg (661 lb). Install pin (18) and pins (17).

  5. Install retainer (16), shims (15), O-ring seal (14), cover (13), and bolts (12).

Note: Use shims (15) as required to reduce gap to less than 1.00 mm (0.039 inch).

  6. Install plates (12), plate (11), and bolts (10) to both sides of the pin.

Note: Use plates (12) as required to achieve clearance of 0.50 to 1.00 mm (0.02 to 0.039 inch). Repeat for the other side.

  8. Use a hoist and a suitable lifting chain to lift bucket link (1) into position. The weight of bucket link (1) is approximately 1510 kg (3329 lb).

Note: Do not remove the hoist and the lifting chain until the pin is installed.

  9. Install Tooling (A) so that Tooling (A) is supporting bucket link (1).

  10. Lubricate pin (5) and the collar bore with Tooling (F). Use Tooling (A) to align the bores.

Note: pin (5) is a slip fit in the bores. Proper alignment is important. Do not use excessive force to install pin (5).

  11. Use a hoist and a suitable lifting sling to carefully install pin (5). The weight of pin (5) is approximately 209 kg (460 lb).

  13. Install collar (19) and seal (20) in the left side pin bore of the bucket. Refer to Step 2.

  14. Align the dowels in plate (3) with the holes in the end of the pin.

  15. Install the spacer, the washer, and bolt (2) to secure plate (3) to the pin. Tighten bolt (2) to a torque of 600 ± 80 N.m (443 ± 59 lb ft) and turn an additional angle of 45° ± 5°.

  16. Remove Tooling (A), the hoist, and the lifting sling.

End By:

  1. Separate the steering frame lock.
