Note: For machines with the Clamshell hood, refer to SEHS0547 prior ordering kits. These models will require the addition of telematics, and may require the installation of a power converter.
This kit adds radar and alarms to the standard on-board rear vision camera to notify the operator when something is close to rear of the machine. This system is configured with zones, and objects in those zones trigger various levels of alarms. A display screen in the cab provides visual confirmation of the objects detected by the radar, so operators can make informed decisions.
C5 radars are the preferred Medium Wheel Loader (MWL) system. C6 radars are available for regions where required, and depends on radar approval. For a list of approved countries, refer to the below website.

Example of Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) configuration for radar support. | |
After installing the hardware, the information display must be configured to add the radar system. This may require the information display to be upgraded to newer software. The configuration can be found in configuration parameters after connecting with Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET). The "Object Detection System Enable Status" must be set to "Enabled" and the "Object Detection System Radar Type Configuration Code" must be set to "1" (C5) or "2" (C6). Refer to System Operation, Troubleshooting, and Testing and Adjusting, UENR5155 and the Illustration 1.

Example of camera uninstalled | |
This kit will provide the required components and installation instructions to field install a full-time secondary display dedicated to the rear-view camera. The camera will be disconnected from the information display and connected to the secondary display. The information display must be configured to have the camera system uninstalled through Cat ET by accessing the information display configuration parameters for the camera system. Refer to Illustration 2.
The new object detection and secondary display retrofit kits are adaptable to the products within the listed serial numbers.
