Fuel Tank Water and Sediment - Drain

Personal injury or death may result from failure to adhere to the following procedures. Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system. Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters. |

- Slowly, remove fuel tank cap (1) to relieve pressure. Open left access door (2) and remove drain tube (5).

Illustration 2 g03803042 - Remove plate (3) to access the drain valve. The drain valve for the fuel tank is located underneath the fuel tank, as shown.

Illustration 3 g03803076 - Attach drain tube (5) to drain valve (4). Remove the cap from the drain tube and allow the water and the sediment to drain into a suitable container.
- Remove drain tube (5) and close drain valve (4). Install plate (3).
- Replace drain tube (5) in the proper location inside access door (2). Close the access door.
- Install fuel tank cap (1).
