Fuel Tank Water and Sediment - Drain

Usage:

Personal injury or death may result from failure to adhere to the following procedures.

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.

Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.

Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.

  1. Slowly, remove fuel tank cap (1) to relieve pressure. Open left access door (2) and remove drain tube (5).

  2. Remove plate (3) to access the drain valve. The drain valve for the fuel tank is located underneath the fuel tank, as shown.

  3. Attach drain tube (5) to drain valve (4). Remove the cap from the drain tube and allow the water and the sediment to drain into a suitable container.

  4. Remove drain tube (5) and close drain valve (4). Install plate (3).

  5. Replace drain tube (5) in the proper location inside access door (2). Close the access door.

  6. Install fuel tank cap (1).
