Injector Repair for C13 and C15 On-highway Engines{1290, 7620} Caterpillar

Introduction

The problem that is identified in the technical information bulletin that follows does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

This document will detail special considerations when you are replacing the injectors on C13 and C15 engines.

Solution

If the engines that are listed above require replacement of the injector, ensure that the Electronic Control Module (ECM) personality module release date is after June 2007. If the release date is prior to June 2007, flash the ECM with new software. Software is available for all engines on SIS Web. The technician must download the new injector trim files. Also, the technician must program the injectors after the flash of the ECM is complete.
