Typical example

There has been isolated instances of defects with the 243-4818 Shutoff Valve (1).

Illustration 2g01405461

Use the following method to determine if there is a defect with the 243-4818 Shutoff Valve. Pull and twist the shutoff valve. Refer to illustration 2. If there is a defect with the 243-4818 Shutoff Valve, the defect will be in position (X). Check the shutoff valve when the next engine service is due. If necessary, replace the 243-4818 Shutoff Valve. Tighten the 243-4818 Shutoff Valve to a torque of 8 N·m (71 lb in).

Note: If there is a green mark on the 243-4818 Shutoff Valve, the 243-4818 Shutoff Valve has already been checked.
