NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Use Tooling (C) and (D) to install vent valve (10).

  2. Use Tooling (B) to install the seals.

  3. Ensure that the lip of the seal is inside the housing.


    NOTICE

    If the water temperature regulator is installed incorrectly, it will cause the engine to overheat.

  4. Install lip seals (8), water temperature regulators (9), and gasket (7).

  5. Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to position water temperature regulator housing (1) on the engine. The weight of water temperature regulator housing (1) is approximately 24 kg (53 lb).

  6. Install the gasket, cover (3), and five bolts (2). Install two bolts (4).

  7. Connect tube assembly (6) to water temperature regulator housing (1).

  8. Install clamp assembly (5).

  9. Fill the cooling with coolant to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".
