A Guard Kit Is Available {1205}
- Petroleum Engine:
- C32 PETROLEUM (S/N: SMP101-114,116-158,161-185)
For the above listed C32 Petroleum Engines, the 306-6504 Guard Kit has been released for servicing the 263-5258 Damper Guard Gp .
The following instructions are for the removal and for installation of the 306-6504 Guard Kit .
- Remove the guard from the front of the engine by removing the four mounting bolts. Discard the damaged guard.
- Obtain the 298-1295 Guard from the guard kit. Place the 210-2593 Shield As on the top of the guard. Refer to Illustration 1.

- Ensure that the placement of the 210-2593 Shield As will put the shield directly underneath the elbow of the turbocharger that is located above the 298-1295 Guard .
- After positioning the 210-2593 Shield As on the guard, drill four holes 6.35 mm (0.2500 inch) in diameter into the plastic guard. Use the metal holes in the shield as a guide. Refer to Illustration 2.
- Put three 159-0052 Clevis Pins through the shield and the guard with the head of the pins on the outside of the shield. Secure the 159-0052 Clevis Pins with three of the 8T-6902 Clips. Refer to Illustration 3.

- Place the fourth 159-0052 Clevis Pin through the 298-1295 Guard and the 210-2593 Shield As with the head of the pin on the inside of the guard. Secure the 159-0052 Clevis Pin with the fourth 8T-6902 Clip. Refer to Illustration 3. The last step ensures the proper clearance between the pin and the pulley assembly of the alternator.
- The existing hardware can be used to mount the 298-1295 Guard onto the engine.
