Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the rear wheels.

2. Remove the rear drive shaft.

1. Drain the rear oscillating axle oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Differential and Final Drive Oil - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedure.

2. Disconnect hose assembly (1).

3. Disconnect hose assembly (2).

4. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to rear axle (3). The weight of rear axle (3) is approximately 750 kg (1650 lb).

5. Remove bolts (4) from both sides of rear axle (3).

6. Remove bolts (5) and lower the axle housing in order to gain access to hose assembly (6). Disconnect hose assembly (6).

7. Use Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device in order to lower rear oscillating axle (3) onto Tooling (B). Remove the suitable lifting device from rear oscillating axle (3). Use Tooling (B) in order to remove rear oscillating axle (3) from under the machine.

Installation Procedure

1. Install rear oscillating axle (3) in the reverse order of removal.
