Procedure to Rework the Alternator Guard Now Available for AD30 Underground Articulated Trucks {7174}

Usage:

AD30 CXR
Underground Articulated Truck:
AD30 (S/N: CXR1-UP; DXR1-551)

Description of Change: A rework procedure for the 217-6714 Guard As is now available. The rework procedure provides an extended service life for the 217-6714 Guard As .

Adaptable To: The rework procedure is adaptable to the following machines.

  1. Remove 217-6714 Guard As (1) .

  1. Remove sections (A) in order to conform with the inner profile of 217-6714 Guard As (1) .

    (B) 6 mm (0.25 inch)

  1. Remove section (C) from 217-6714 Guard As (1) .

  1. Ensure 217-6714 Guard As (1) has continuous weld both sides on all joints. Refer to Illustration 4 and Table 2.

    Note: Ensure sufficient clearance for the bolt heads.

  1. Loosen five bolts (2) from the alternator guard mounting brackets.

    (1) 217-6714 Guard As

  1. Install 217-6714 Guard As (1), leaving the bolts loose.

  1. Tighten the bolts from Step 5 and Step 6 evenly in order to reduce stress to 217-6714 Guard As (1) .
