Service Magazine SEPD1375, 22 December 2011, "Improved AMOCS Radiator now Available for Certain D11 Track-Type Tractors". Disregard this article. See the article that follows.

Description of Change: Several changes have been made to the D11T AMOCS radiator to improve service life for the machines listed above.

  • The two center core hold down brackets and the two end core hold down brackets have been changed from a 90 degree bend to a 94 degree bend to increase the core hold down force.

  • The mid-core support system has been changed to allow for core length tolerances, and to reduce core movement during machine operation, and therefore reduce the number of radiator seal leaks.

  • The internal weld procedure that is used to make the bottom tank has been changed to a skip weld to provide a flatter surface at the bottom tank and radiator core interface.

  • The radiator cores have been changed to improve the perpendicularity of the bottom of the core in relationship to the center axis. This will improve the sealing interface between the cores and the bottom tank.

  • The assembly process has been further defined to reduce radiator leaks on new machines from the factory. New torque sequences are used for improved core retention.

Adaptable To: The 94 degree hold down brackets are adaptable to the following machines:

  • (S/N: GEB1-846)

  • (S/N: TPB1-202)

  • (S/N: 7PZ1-UP)

  • (S/N: AAF1-UP)

The mid-core support, bottom tank welding, core perpendicularity, and factory assembly process improvements are adaptable to the following machines:

  • (S/N: GEB1-961)

  • (S/N: TPB1-210)

  • (S/N: 7PZ1-UP)

  • (S/N: AAF1-UP)

The 94 degree hold down brackets are effective with the following machines:

  • (S/N: GEB847-UP)

  • (S/N: TPB203-UP)

The mid-core support, bottom tank welding, core perpendicularity, and factory assembly process improvements are effective with the following machines:

  • (S/N: GEB962-UP)

  • (S/N: TPB211-UP)

Rework Procedure

To Update the Two Center and Two End Hold Down Brackets

  1. Remove the existing center and end hold down brackets.

  1. Replace with the new parts, as shown in Illustration 1. Each of the brackets uses two bolts (5) and two washers (4). Retainer (1) and retainer (3) will go on the end of the radiator and retainers (2) will go in the center.

To Install the Improved Mid-core Support

Note: Step 1 is for D11R only.
