7N129 Or 9S2259 Voltage Regulator Can Not Be Adjusted For Voltage Output{1405,1410}

Usage:

All Applications Of 3T1888 and 8N999 Alternators

Some Caterpillar Service Manuals incorrectly show that the voltage output for the 24-volt 7N129 (formerly 9S2259) Regulator can be adjusted. This regulator is used in the 50 amp 3T1888 (serviced by 5S9088) Alternator Group, and in the 75 amp 8N999 Alternator Group.

Do not try to adjust this regulator in the field. The calibration procedure shown in some Manuals is only for use during manufacturing. If the charging voltage is not in the range of 26.5 to 28.7 volts with ambient air at 26°C (79°F), replace the regulator.
