Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Piston Pump (Steering)(Center) - Remove".

1. Remove bolts (1) and valve (2).

2. Remove gasket (3).

   Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force. Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment. Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.

3. Remove housing (14), O-ring seal (15), spring (13), spring (12), retainer (11), and spool (10) from valve (2).

4. Remove housing (8), O-ring seal (9), spring (7), spring (6), retainer (5), and spool (4) from valve (2).

5. Remove bolts (16) and head (17).

6. Remove O-ring seal (18), port plate (20), and bearing cup (19).

7. Remove bearing cone (21).

8. Remove shim (22) and barrel assembly (23).

10. Use Tooling (B) and a suitable press in order to remove retaining ring (27) from barrel assembly (23).

11. Remove washers (28), spring (29), and pins (30).

12. Remove plug (31) and the O-ring seal.

14. Remove swashplate (33) and rod (34).

18. Remove lip seal (42) and bearing cup (43).
