Description of Change: Improvements to the fuel tank assembly for the 950H, 962H and IT62H have been made in order to increase the rate of fueling.

Adaptable To: The previous 247-0261 Tube assembly has now been replaced by the new 304-0473 Tube Assembly.

Note: The 290-8038 Fuel Cap can be used on the new 304-0473 Tube Assembly .The new tube assembly is adaptable to first production of the machines that are listed above. The new tube assembly is effective with the machines that are listed in Table 1.

Required Parts

Fuel tank

1. Remove 188-8844 Breaker Relief Valve (1) and the 3D-2824 O-Ring Seal from the fuel tank. Discard 3D-2824 O-Ring Seal. Save the breaker relief valve for later use.

2. Remove three 8T-4136 Bolts (3) and three 8T-4121 Hard Washers (4) that hold tube assembly (2) to the fuel tank. Save the bolts and the washers for later use.

3. Remove 247-0261 Tube Assembly (2) and the 8C-5172 Rectangular Seal from the fuel tank. Discard these parts.

Baffle

4. Remove 262-0265 Baffle (5). Keep washers and nuts for later use.

5. Cut a slot that is 30 mm (1.18 inch) by 50 mm (1.97 inch) in the 262-0265 Baffle (5) .

   Note: The 304-0477 Tube Assembly will pass through this slot. Refer to Illustration 2.

6. Reinstall baffle (5). Use the washers and the nuts that were removed in Step 4.

7. Assemble 6V-9746 O-Ring Seal (9) to 157-8510 Adapter (8). Assemble adapter (8) to 304-0476 Hose Assembly (11) .

8. Assemble 3D-2824 O-Ring Seal (7) to 188-8844 Breaker Relief Valve (6). Assemble 188-8844 Breaker Relief Valve (6) to 157-8510 Adapter (8) .

9. Install 6V-9746 O-Ring Seal (9) and 3D-2824 O-Ring Seal (7) on 6V-9007 Elbow (20). Install elbow (20) into 304-0473 Tube Assembly (18). Refer to Illustration 3.

10. Install tube assembly (18) into the fuel tank. Install a new 8C-5172 Rectangular Seal between the tube assembly and the fuel tank. Use the bolts and the washers that were removed in Step 2 in order to assemble the tube to the tank.

11. Assemble two 6V-9746 O-Ring Seals (9) and one 3D-2824 O-Ring Seal (7) to 6V-8777 Face Seal Tee (17). Assemble tee (17) into the fuel tank.

12. Install 304-0477 Tube Assembly (19) between elbow (20) and tee (17) .

    Note: Route the 304-0477 Tube Assembly (19) through the cutout in the 262-0265 Baffle before assembly.

13. Install 6V-9746 O-Ring Seal (9) onto 6V-9853 Elbow (16). Install elbow (16) into the remaining open port on tee (17) .

14. Assemble 154-6626 Bracket (12) to the baffle. Replace the existing bolt in the baffle with a 8T-4196 Bolt .

15. Attach the end of 304-0476 Hose Assembly (11) to elbow (16). Use 6V-1889 Clip (15), 8T-4136 Bolt (13), and 8T-4121 Hard Washer (14) in order to secure the hose to bracket (12) .

16. Use the existing bolt in order to mount 304-0290 Bracket (21) to the shield of the engine. Use 7D-7233 Clip (10), 8T-4136 Bolt (13), and 8T-4121 Hard Washer (14) in order to secure the hose to bracket (21) .
