(2) Use the following procedure for installation of the locknut:

Note: Do not apply Loctite 2760 within the first five threads which is shown by distance (A) .

1. Apply Loctite 2760 to the threads of the rod in the shape of the triangle (1) with 25.4 mm (1.00 inch) base length which starts after the first five threads which is shown by distance (A) .

2. Install the locknut and tighten to 8000 ± 800 N·m (5900 ± 590 lb ft).

3. Remove any access Loctite.

4. Before the cylinder test, allow the rod assembly to cure for a minimum of one hour.

Note: Lubricate the threads of the hydraulic cylinder piston group (3) with clean hydraulic oil.

(3) Torque for the hydraulic cylinder piston group ... 700 ± 70 N·m (520 ± 50 lb ft)

(B) Bore of the cylinder assembly ... 266.75 ± 0.10 mm (10.502 ± 0.004 inch)

(C) Outside diameter of the rod after plating ... 101.55 ± 0.038 mm (3.998 ± 0.002 inch)

(D) Bore of the head over two lands ... 102.60 ± 0.03 mm (4.039 ± 0.001 inch)

(E) Bore of the head over two lands ... 101.88 ± 0.03 mm (4.011 ± 0.001 inch)

(4) 152-7554 Self-Aligning Bearing

Inside diameter ... 101.58 to 101.60 mm (3.999 to 4.000 inch)

Outside diameter ... 158.725 to 158.750 mm (6.2490 to 6.2500 inch)

(5) Lubricate the sealing lip of the buffer seal assembly lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

(6) Lubricate the sealing lip of the U-cup seal lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Note: Before assembly, apply 4C-4032 Bearing Mount Compound to the wiper seal groove.

(7) Lubricate the sealing lip of the wiper seal lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
