Disassembly Procedure

Start By:
- Remove the steering motor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Piston Motor (Steering) - Remove".
- Mark the head and the housing for proper alignment during reassembly. Remove bolts (2) from housing (1). Remove head (3) .

- Remove O-ring seal (4) and plate (5) .

- Use Tooling (A) in order to remove retaining ring (6) .

- Protect the shaft and remove cover (7). Remove seal (8) from the cover.

- Remove O-ring seal (9) and shims (10) .

- Use Tooling (B) to remove rotating group (11) from the housing. Do not allow the barrel to separate from the pistons during the removal procedure.

- Remove barrel (12) from the pistons.

- Remove spring (13) and shim (14) from barrel (12) .

- Remove screws (15) from the shaft. Remove plate (16) and the pistons from the shaft.

- Remove pin (17) and pistons (18) from plate (16). The piston rings are nonserviceable separately from the pistons.

- Use Tooling (C) to remove retaining ring (19) from shaft (20) .
