Flywheel Housing - Remove and Install

Usage:

C1.5 NCA

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the flywheel. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flywheel - Remove".


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


  1. Support the engine with a suitable lifting device or support the engine on blocks that are positioned on a flat level surface.

  1. Remove bolts (2) and flywheel housing (1) .

    Typical example

  1. Clean the rear face of the cylinder block and the mating face of flywheel housing (1). Inspect the crankshaft rear seal for leaks. Inspect the dowels for damage. If the crankshaft rear seal or the dowels are damaged, use new parts for replacement.

  1. Apply a continuous bead of Tooling (A) to the rear face of the cylinder block around the mating surface of the crankshaft rear seal and around the rear core plug for the camshaft.

  1. Position flywheel housing (1) on the dowels.

  1. Install bolts (2). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 25 N·m (19 lb ft).

End By: Install the flywheel. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flywheel - Install".
