Assembly for the camera |
The system has been set up by the factory or by a Caterpillar dealer in order to provide views which comply with the guidelines that have been documented. The mounting height, location, and angle of the camera are important factors in producing the correct view. Adjusting any of these parameters could result in large change in the amount of viewable area.
Consult your Caterpillar dealer before any adjustments are made to the system.
The camera is designed to work in a wide range of temperature, moisture, vibration, and shock. The camera cannot see through dust, smoke, fog, darkness, or any other condition that would naturally limit the visible viewing distance. These weather conditions can reduce the viewable area.
Proper operation of the system will require periodic cleaning of the camera lens and the display. Refer to the following topics in this manual:
- Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Display - Clean"
- Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Camera - Clean"
After installation, there should be no need to make any physical adjustments to any of the cameras under normal operating conditions. The cameras are fixed focused cameras. The cameras have been installed by the following service personnel: factory, Caterpillar dealer, and qualified technician.

(1) Camera Wash |
If equipped, the camera wash system is used to clean the lens on the camera. Although a rear camera may be typically selected for the camera wash system, the system can be installed on any one camera or multiple cameras. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Camera - Clean" for maintenance procedures.
