Theft Deterrent Is Active

Note: The theft deterrent system is managed via the Caterpillar driver information display. The following code relates to the theft deterrent system:

J1939 Code  Description  Note 
224-11  Theft Deterrent Active  The code that is displayed depends on the version of the engine software. 
224-14  Theft Deterrent Active With Engine Cranking 
1196-31  Anti-theft Component Status States 

The code indicates the status of the system. The code is active only while the appropriate condition exists.

Engine Stopped

The engine will not start while the system is activated. The code is active. The check engine lamp is illuminated. If the engine is cranked, the code remains active. The engine will not start until the correct password is entered into the system.

Engine at Idle

Engine speed is limited to programmed low idle rpm while the theft deterrent system is activated. The code is active. The check engine lamp is illuminated. Engine speed will not increase above idle until the correct password is entered into the system.
