Sleeve Can Be Used For Reconditioning The Mounting Bore For The Fuel Pump Housing In The Cylinder Block{1201}

Usage:

All 1100, 3100 Series And 3208 Engines

The 4W6143 Sleeve can be used for reconditioning the mounting bore for the fuel pump housing on all 1100, 3100 Series and 3208 Engines. Formerly, it was not possible to use some cylinder blocks again because of wear or damage to the bore.

If the diameter of the wear groove in a bore with normal wear is 120.83 mm (4.757") or less, the cylinder block can be used again without the sleeve.

Illustration 1 shows a cylinder block with severe wear in the bore. The diameter of the wear groove in the bore is larger than 120.83 mm (4.757"). A cylinder block with severe wear can be used again if the 4W6143 Sleeve is installed.

Illustration 1. Severe bore wear. Install 4W6143 Sleeve.

A cylinder block with a bore that has a scratch is shown in Illustration 2. Remove the scratch or other damage and measure the diameter of the bore. If the diameter is larger than 120.83 mm (4.757"), it will be necessary to install the 4W6143 Sleeve as shown in Illustration 3.

Special Instruction, Form SEHS8358, gives complete instructions on the tools and tells how to machine and install the sleeve.
