3500 Family Generator Sets and Power Modules

Engine News SEBD9340, December 2004, "New Cooling Screens in TMI for Electric Power Packages". The radiator TMI Data for Lafayette and Griffin sourced 3500 Electric Power packages published December 3, 2004 contained some inaccuracies. The corrected information was released on March 4, 2005.

Caterpillar introduces new cooling screens in TMI applicable to Caterpillar Diesel Generator Sets for Electric Power application (3300 - 3500). The new screens include:

• Radiator ambient capability at multiple altitudes and static restrictions

• Package air flow

• Desired coolant return temperatures

• Radiator water capacity

• Radiator weight

• Radiator CG

• Fan power information

• Fan pulley ratio information

This information applies to Caterpillar Electric Power Diesel Packaged Generator Sets with factory packaged radiators. Pricelists include PKGG, PKGL, and PKGI (except current 3500 PKGI). To facilitate interpretation of the data, a common nomenclature for radiator terms has also been developed.
