Keep Alternators Without Pulleys In A Horizontal Position During Installation To Prevent Internal Damage{1405}

Usage:

Caterpillar Engines Equipped With 6T1193, 6T1194, 6T1195, 6T1196, 3T8753 Alternators

Shipment of the above alternators is made with a temporary spacer where the pulley normally fits. The spacer prevents movement of internal parts during shipment. After removal of the spacer, and before assembly of the pulley, do not put the alternator in a vertical position. With the alternator in a vertical position, it is possible for the rotor to move down and cause damage to the rotor or other internal parts.

The pulley must be assembled with the rotor in a horizontal position, not vertical. Correct assembly of the pulley puts the rotor in the correct position and prevents damage to internal parts.
