Description of Change: A new hydraulic actuator cylinder is now used in the air shutoff groups on the above engines. The new cylinder has a stronger return spring. This stronger spring will improve the operation of the shutoff group.
Formerly, it was possible for small increases in oil pressure in the air shutoff hydraulic circuit to cause the cylinder to activate the air shutoff. If only one side is activated by these pressure increases, it is possible to damage the engine because fuel that is not burnt will accumulate in one bank of the cylinders.
Adaptable As: The new 2W6314 Cylinder is a direct replacement for the former 5N8963 Cylinder.
