New Bolt Used In Front Engine Support{1154}
Usage:
3406, 3408 and 3412 Marine Engines
Description of Change: A longer bolt and a spacer are now used on the front support assembly of 3406, 3408 and 3412 Marine Engines. The new longer bolt and spacer will permit more of a change in length of the bolt when it is tightened. This will help keep the bolt tight. Formerly, it was possible for vibrations to cause the bolt to loosen.
Adaptable To: The new parts shown in the chart are a direct replacement for the former parts.
Before the new bolts are installed, use a tap to thread the holes to a depth of 50.0 mm (1.97'). Tighten the new bolts to 243 ± 27 N·m (180 ± 20 lb ft).
