Application Of Labels To Plastic Tool Cases{0630}

Usage:

Some dealers want to put the identification labels for plastic tool cases in different locations because of their storage system. This will make it easy to identify the cases when they are stacked. Formerly, installation of these labels on the rough surfaces of the plastic tool cases was difficult.

We have found that the use of No. 4693 Plastic Adhesive to install the labels on the rough surfaces will give acceptable results.

This adhesive can be ordered from:

Minnesota Mining and Mfg. Co.
223-6 N.E.
3M Center
Saint Paul, MN 55144

To install the identification labels on rough surfaces, use the procedure that follows:

1. Remove the protective cover from the back of the label. With the surface of the case clean and dry, put adhesive on the case and on the back of the label. The case and adhesive must be at least 18°C (65°F).

2. Let the adhesive dry for approximately ten minutes. Then, put the label in position on the case.

NOTE: The identification labels are made with adhesive on their back surface. This adhesive gives good performance on smooth surfaces, but does not give acceptable results when used on rough surfaces.

Extra identification labels can be ordered with the form number on the bottom right of the label.
