Assembly Procedure

Note: Thoroughly clean all parts of the priority valve for the torque converter prior to assembly. Put clean oil on all internal parts.

1. Check the condition of the O-ring seal. If the O-ring seal is worn or damaged, use a new part for replacement.

2. Install ball (10), spring (12) and retainer (11) in spool assembly (5) .

3. Use Tooling (A) to install retaining ring (9) .

4. Install slug (8) in spool assembly (5) .

5. Install spring (4), shims (6) and spool assembly (5) in valve body assembly (3) .

6. Install O-ring seal (7) and cover (1) on the valve body. Install the washers and bolts (2) .

End By: Install the priority valve for the torque converter. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Torque Converter Priortiy Valve - Install".
