Engine Oil Pump - Remove

Usage:

C15 HAZ

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the engine oil pan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pan - Remove and Install".


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.



NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Remove bolts (1). Remove tube assembly (2). Remove the O-ring seal from the tube assembly.

  2. Remove bolt (8) and the washer.

  3. Remove bolts (4). Remove suction bell assembly (5) and tube assembly (7). Remove the O-ring seal from the tube assembly.

  4. If necessary, remove bolts (6) and remove tube assembly (7) from suction bell assembly (5).

  5. Remove bolts (9) and remove engine oil pump (3) from the cylinder block.

  6. If necessary, remove the bolts, the plate, and the gasket from the bottom of the cylinder block.
