- Apply Tooling (A) on the exhaust manifold studs.
- Attach a suitable lifting device on turbocharger (1) . The weight of the turbocharger is approximately 39 kg (86 lb). Install locknuts (3) . Do not tighten the locknuts at this time.
Note: Discard the locknuts after use. Use new locknuts for installation.
- Install the exhaust piping on the turbocharger. Position the turbine housing with the exhaust pipe, in order to prevent binding.
- Install the O-ring seals on the air pipe. Apply Tooling (B) to the O-ring seals. Install the air pipe on the turbocharger. Position the compressor housing with the air pipe in order to prevent binding.
- Tighten the nut on the turbine clamp to a torque of 14 ± 1 N·m (10 ± 1 lb ft). Do not overtighten the nut.
- Tighten the nut on the compressor clamp to a torque of 14 ± 1 N·m (10 ± 1 lb ft). Do not overtighten the nut.
- Lightly tap around the diameter of turbine clamp with a soft hammer. Tighten the nuts on the turbine clamp to a torque of 14 ± 1 N·m (10 ± 1 lb ft). Do not overtighten the nut.
- Lightly tap around the diameter of compressor clamp with a soft hammer. Tighten the nuts on the compressor clamp to a torque of 14 ± 1 N·m (10 ± 1 lb ft). Do not overtighten the nut.
- Tighten locknuts (3) to a torque of 55 ± 9 N·m (41 ± 7 lb ft).
- Install the O-ring seals on tube assembly (5) . Install the tube assembly.
- Install the gasket and tube assembly (2) .
