Alternator - Disassemble
Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
- Remove the alternator. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Alternator - Remove" for the machine that is being serviced.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
- Remove the pulley nut, the washer, the pulley (with a suitable puller), key, fan and spacer from the alternator.

NOTICE |
---|
Failure to use long nose pliers as a heat sink can cause damage to the diodes because of too much heat during lead unsoldering. |
- If required, remove snap ring (22) and seal (23) from rear housing. Then remove bearing (24) from rear housing with a suitable puller.
