- 盘车起动发动机并在电子维修工具的状态屏幕上观察发动机转速。 如果电子维修工具显示转速为 0，请参阅故障诊断与排除, "发动机转速 / 正时电路 - 测试"。
注: 初始起动盘车时，发动机转速状态可能会指示发动机转速信号异常。 一旦 ECM 能够从信号计算出发动机转速，此信息就会被发动机转速取代。
- 确保正时参考齿轮安装正确。 如果齿轮装反，发动机将无法起动。 检查曲轴和凸轮轴驱动齿轮之间的方向是否正确。 如有必要，修正方向并 / 或更换驱动齿轮。 请参阅拆解和组装, "凸轮轴 - 拆卸和安装"。
在电子维修工具上进行 "Injector Solenoid Test"（喷油器电磁阀测试）以确定是否所有的喷油器电磁阀都可被 ECM 通电激励。 请参阅故障诊断与排除, "喷油器电磁阀电路 - 测试"以了解更多信息。
- 检查燃油油位。
- 监测起动盘车发动机期间排气有无白烟。
如果未出现白烟的话，故障可能出在燃油质量或供油上。
- 检查燃油压力。 请参阅测试与调整, "燃油系统压力 - 测试"。
- 确保燃油系统已充注。 请参阅测试与调整, "燃油系统 - 充注"。
- 检查供油管路有无阻塞。
- 检查燃油滤清器。
- 如果温度低于 0 °C (32 °F)，检查燃油有无凝固（结蜡）。
