Usage:

All Track-Type Machines

SUPPLEMENT: 10/25/82

SERVICE MAGAZINE, SEPTEMBER 20, 1982, PAGE 8. In the article "New Recommendations For Track Roller Wear Before Rebuilding", a wrong percent is given in the last paragraph. Change the first sentence of the paragraph to read "The new recommendations are possible because tests have shown that rollers in the range of 70-110% wear can be welded with acceptable results."

--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------

New recommendations have been put in effect for the amount of permissible wear when track rollers can be rebuilt. Under the new recommendations, rollers can be rebuilt when they are worn between a minimum of 70%, and a maximum of 110%. Formerly, the amount of wear was limited to a minimum of 80%, and a maximum of 100%.

The increased range of permissible wear will permit more rollers to be rebuilt, especially where there are differences in the amount of wear on different rollers on the same machine, or between the inner and outer treads of any one roller. Generally, the new recommendations will permit all of these to be rebuilt at the same time.

The new recommendations are possible because tests have shown that rollers in the range of 70-110% wear can be welded with acceptable results. The change in wear recommendations is for track rollers only; the recommendation for track links is still 80-100& wear.
