发动机转速传感器是一个永磁传感器。 此发动机转速传感器具有单一磁极。 发动机转速传感器由线圈 (2) 构成。 此线圈环绕永磁极靴 (4) 。
当飞轮齿圈 (5) 上的齿切割由永磁铁产生的磁力线 (1) 时，线圈 (2) 中就产生了一个交流(AC)电压。 此电压的频率直接与发动机转速成比例。
