Usage:
start by:
a) remove crankcase guard (rear)
1. Remove sixteen bolts (1) and washers from flange and flange assembly.
2. Remove four joints (3).
3. Remove eight bolts and washers that hold the flange in position. Remove flange (4).
4. Remove flange assembly (2) from converter shaft.
Install Flexible Coupling Drive
1. Install the flange (1) on the flange assembly. Tighten the bolts that hold it to a torque of 95 ± 5 lb.ft. (130 ± 7 N·m).
2. Fasten tooling (A) to the converter shaft with a clamp. Put the universal attachment of tooling (A) on the outside diameter of the flange as shown. Put the indicator on zero. Turn the converter shaft one complete turn. Check the indications every 90°. The total indications must not be more than .080 in. (2.03 mm). If the indications are not correct, remove or add shims under the engine rear support.
3. Put the universal attachment of tooling (A) on the machined surface of the flange between bolt holes. Put the indicator on zero. Turn the converter shaft one complete turn. Check the indications every 90°. The total indications must not be more than .026 in. (0.66 mm). If the indications are not correct, loosen the bolts that hold the engine in position. Move the engine from one side to the other side. Check the indications again. If necessary, move the engine several times to get the correct indications. Remove tooling (A).
4. Install the flange assembly (3) on the converter.
5. Put the four joints (2) between the flange and flange assembly. Install the bolts that hold them. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 80 ± 5 lb.ft. (110 ± 7 N·m).
